Biodiesel Cost

Posted by admin | money saving tips | Friday 30 October 2009 5:46 pm

In a word: not much – at least not for what you get. Whether you buy it or make it yourself, the benefits of biodiesel far outweigh the biodiesel cost in so many ways. This article, examines the actual financial biodiesel cost – both biodiesel prices for those who choose to buy theirs from biodiesel production companies and for making biodiesel oneself.

How do biodiesel prices compare with other fuel costs, mile for mile?
• B100 or 100% biodiesel cost an average of 8.2 cents per mile, and gets:o 37 miles per gallon in the city; o 45 miles per gallon on the highway;
• Unleaded gasoline cost an average of 6.9 cents per mile, and gets: o 25 miles per gallon in the city; o 31 miles per gallon on the highway;
• B20 or a mixture of 80% petroleum-based diesel and 20% biodiesel cost 6.0 cents per mile, and gets: o 37 miles per gallon in the city; o 45 miles per gallon on the highway;
• Conventional, petroleum-based diesel cost an average of 5.2 cents per mile, and gets: o 38 miles per gallon in the city; o 46 miles per gallon on the highway.

The mileage one gets from using biodiesel as compared with regular, unleaded gasoline more than makes up for the slightly higher biodiesel cost, especially when you consider that biodiesel cost should only go down over time, whereas the cost of crude oil, and therefore the price of gas at the pump, is only expected to rise or, at best, settle off somewhere around current prices.

By the same token, the fact that conventional diesel fuel is the cheapest of all of them and gets the best mileage in no way discounts the cost-effectiveness of using biodiesel. Again, while gas and diesel prices are rising, biodiesel cost is expected to soften. A gallon of biodiesel cost $5 just 5 years ago. At the time of this writing biodiesel cost $3.30-$3.50 and is getting lower all the time. (You can find out the currently biodiesel cost as well as the prices for all fuels both alternative and conventional, in a regular newsletter published on the following U.S. DOE web page maintained by the Clean Cities Alternative: www.eere.energy.gov/afdc/resources/pricereport/price_report.html)
Not only that, but biodiesel also runs cleaner than its contemporaries, and cleans and lubricates engines. All of these factors contribute to prolonging engine life and reducing vehicle maintenance costs.
Biodiesel is also good for the U.S. economy. A surge in biodiesel demand, like the one we’re currently experiencing and which is only expected to continue to swell, is expected within the next 10 years to create up to 50,000 new jobs for Americans.

Over the next 5 years, U.S. farmers could see their bottom line increase by as much as $1 billion thanks to biodiesel. How, you ask? In at least two ways. First, if biodiesel takes off, feedstock prices for vegetable oils will steadily increase. The price of a bushel of soybeans, for one, is projected to rise by $0.10 per year if biodiesel overtook diesel and gasoline as our fuel of choice. Secondly, the government is currently offering incentives in the form of tax credits on the cost of biodiesel production (see our companion piece, “Government Incentives and Tax Credits for Biodiesel Production & Sale”). All this makes one thing abundantly clear – as biodiesel becomes more widely used, it will only become more and more profitable, while at the same time leading to a welcome decline in biodiesel cost as well as the biodiesel cost of production.

Biodiesel Equipment

Posted by admin | money saving tips | Friday 30 October 2009 5:44 pm

Biodiesel is an alternative fuel that is so easy to make that you can make it in your own home. It is safe and made form common ingredients, too. However, the process, while simple, requires some equipment. You can put together your own equipment, but then you would probably only be able to make very small batches of biodiesel. If you want to be able to make larger batches which you can actually use to fuel your vehicle then you need to look into biodiesel equipment .

Biodiesel Equipment
You will need several key pieces of equipment to make biodiesel. You need a mixer compartment where the ingredients are mixed together. You may need a settling compartment where the biodiesel separates from the byproduct. Sometimes this can be done right in the mixer compartment. Finally you need a holding or storage tank for the biodiesel once it is complete.

You can buy kits or processors that come with all the parts you need, including instructions on how to use the equipment to make biodiesel. Biodiesel equipment varies in price, but you usually can find something affordable no matter what your budget may be.
Biodiesel Kits
Biodiesel equipment contains kits allow you to create a biodiesel processing system. You will usually have to put together the kit in order to use it. It will come with the pieces you need and instructions on putting the kit together and how to produce biodiesel.

Biodiesel Processor
A biodiesel processor usually comes put together. It will often include instructions on how to make biodiesel. A processor will usually come in a variety of sizes. You choose the size that will yield the amount of biodiesel you need or, if limited by space, that is the right size for your needs.

Reasons to Use a Kit or Processor
Besides being able to make larger batches of biodiesel there is another reason to buy biodiesel equipment over just using your own homemade equipment. Purchased equipment comes with built in safety features. Bought biodiesel equipment has seals and other safety features that keep fumes and hot oil from becoming a safety factor.

Additionally, using biodiesel equipment helps you ensure that the ingredients you use are safely mixed and that the whole process is done correctly. There is less room for error which could result in less than stellar biodiesel. It is highly recommended that you make biodiesel using purchased biodiesel equipment.

Alternative Vehicle Fuel

Posted by admin | money saving tips | Friday 30 October 2009 5:41 pm

Recently, you may have found the ongoing popularity of water based cars to be a little overwhelming. As gas prices inch closer to four and five dollars a gallon, families are in search of technology that can help keep them from spending $200-$400 in gas a month. Even though there are water based alternative vehicle fuel on the market, they are extremely expensive and not built to be purchased by the majority of the public.

If you are trying to combat this ongoing issue, there are ways to make cars that run on water. This cannot only double your gas mileage per gallon, but also allow your vehicle to last longer without costly repairs as you rack up the miles. You just have to know where to look when searching for alternative fuel for cars.

The New Technology

It’s amazing to think that big companies like Ford, BMW, Honda, Toyota, and many other car manufacturers are trying to solve the big problem when there is something out there that can help right now. In fact, no one has a clue if 100% hybrid vehicles will ever be a feasible addition to any family because of high cost. While the testing continues, why not take matters into your own hands and start saving money on gas now?

Cars that run on water can be available to the average household simply by purchasing a hydrogen generator system. By placing only one gallon of water in a stainless steel container with an electrolyzer, it extracts HHO gas from the water and then is sent through the intake manifolds or carburetor. This action creates enough energy to run the vehicle, which in turn uses less gasoline and when it’s burned off from the vehicle simply turns back into water instead of pollution.

The Benefits Outside of Mileage

Since HHO gas is three times more powerful then regular gasoline, it’s no surprise it helps with better gas mileage. However, using this innovation has transformed the way people take care of their vehicle’s engine. Once you have a car that runs on water, it will begin to change the inside of your engine.

You will start to experience a smoother, quieter running vehicle and the carbon deposits that build up in the engine will begin to be cleaned out each time you drive anywhere. Using alternative fuel for cars also widens the torque which allows for faster acceleration. This means you won’t have to press down on the gas pedal as much as before because the vehicle will still go with less output.

What’s Next?

If you feel that saving thousands of dollars of gas will help you throughout the year, then purchasing a hydrogen generator system is definitely for you. Having an alternative vehicle fuel that runs on water will not only be beneficial to you and your family, but also to combating global warming and possibly the economy depending how you spend the money. It’s really a win-win situation for everyone.

Can I Use Biodiesel In My Car

Biodiesel blends are becoming more essential to the every day operation of farm vehicles and machinery, trucks, buses and boats both big and small. This is because there are a many advantages to using one of the designer fuel biodiesel fuel blends on the market. Now everybody is asking “Can I use my biodiesel in my car”? The answer is a resounding yes.

First of all any substance that helps reduce the U.S. dependence on foreign fossil fuel oils can’t help but be a good thing. If you cut your gasoline or diesel with a biodiesel fuel blend such as fuel boost you are cutting down on your need to use foreign fossil fuels and creating jobs for Americans who grow the soy and canola that is used to make biodiesel blends, plus you will really help the environment.

Biodiesel can be used in a blend in many different kinds of existing diesel engines without modification. So, don’t be afraid that you cannot use biodiesel in your car if you don’t have flexible fuel vehicles. Biodiesel burns substantially cleaner than petroleum based diesel fuel in both vehicles and machinery.

Biodiesel is carbon-neutral which means that its contribution to global warming is negligible compared to petroleum products. In addition to displacing imported petroleum, biodiesel blends reduce air pollution and greenhouse gases. Biodiesel is a lubricant that reduces wear and tear on engine parts by almost one half! In fact it is already added to many petrodiesel fuels to increase the lubricity of diesel engines and fuel systems. It is also a solvent that can help keep your system clean.

One of the disadvantages of biodiesel is that, it is still not that widely available commercially. Still the consumption of biodiesel has greatly increased since 2001. This is why so many people are ordering their own car conversion “grease car” kits or home brewing systems to make their own biodiesel. See how great biodiesel is? You can do it all by yourself.

So what are you waiting for? Convert car to biodiesel today and save a lot of money, help the environment and help farmers get more job.

5 Top Super Gas Saver Tips

Posted by admin | fuel economy, fuel saving devices, money saving tips | Saturday 6 December 2008 11:06 am

There are three things now certain in life, death, taxes and rising gas prices.  The cool thing is, we can do something about the rising fuel cost’s.  Did you know that you can become a super gas saver by utilizing key gas saving tips?  Listed below are a few key fuel saving tips that you can utilize right now and begin saving immediately.

You can start off by checking the air pressure in your car tires.  So many never take the time to do this and it takes just a moment to do.  Checking the air pressure is important because it reduces wear and tear and will make your car run more efficiently.  The more workload you put on your car the more fuel it will burn.

The next step involves planning how your car is to be utilized.  I know you have been in a situation where you just get home and remember you needed something else.  In most cases this can be avoided with a little planning.  Here’s what to do, on Sunday make a complete list of where you need to go the following week so you’ll be ready.  If you plan wisely, you’ll be able to take less “needed” trips out in your car.

The third tip is the correct use of your cars cruise control.  Optimum efficiency is obtained when your car utilizes cruise control.  It is a good idea to read your cars owner’s manual to correctly use this feature.  It is not a good idea to keep turning your cruise control on and off as this will mimic the acceleration and braking of daily driving.

The fourth step is to clean out your car of any excess weight.  As most of you know, we treat our cars like a secondary home.  As we continue to add and take away items from the car we begin to leave items over time.  Give your car a thorough cleaning and take out anything that is not pertinent to that day’s needs.  At the end of everyday, take out what you bring in to keep the weight and clutter down to a minimum.

Our closing tip is to accelerate gradually and focus on how we drive our cars.  We are not teenagers anymore who drive recklessly and without regard for gas consumption.  By driving aggressively your causing your engine to work harder which burns up more fuel.  You don’t have to drive like and elderly person but just be aware of how you drive and act accordingly.

The preceding were five super gas saver tips that you can implement immediately and start saving on gas.  If you are still not satisfied with the savings then you can look for an alternative like hybrid cars.  If you can’t afford a new hybrid then there is one other alternative.  Did you know you can turn your car into a hybrid?  You can.  If you really want to save a ton on gas then this is just what your looking for.

Increase Your Gas Mileage With Water

Posted by admin | money saving tips | Thursday 30 October 2008 10:52 am

As we all know, if we can improve our vehicle’s gas mileage that means we can save money.  Let’s face the fact that gas prices are skyrocketing. Most of Americans are paying $4 for each gallon, while in the international market    it would cost as much as $6 for each gallon. There would be the old techniques to save gas and the new technology (called water to gas engines) that will save our money from the pump.

We know that if there are traditional ways to achieve better mileage. Like if we change some of our driving habits such as accelerating slowly, keeping a good distance (so you don’t have to break and again accelerate), running on a constant speed and not driving faster then 65mph - 120km/h, then definitely we’ll be getting better mileage out of our cars you also get free auto coverage quote.

Making sure the tires are well inflated will also help in improving gas mileage. Wheel alignment is also important, since an improper alignment can add to the wear the tires are experiencing which is unnecessary. Having a regular car tuning up will also help. Replacing your old air, with a new filter can reduce fuel consumption up to 10%.

Using public transportation and sharing a ride through carpools, vanpools and mass transit are also good ways to conserve gasoline and energy also check out free car insurance quote on line. It even reduces air pollution and traffic congestion. By following these basic maintenance guidelines, there will be a cut back on the amount of fuel your car needs.

But there is another way to attain better mileage. Do you know that by converting you car to run on water to supplement gas, mileage doesn’t just double; it can increase up to 40%!  It even produces cleaner emission and the car becomes more fuel efficient.

With this technology it doesn’t mean that you will be putting water to your gas tank.  With water-to-gas-engines, you will be installing Hydrogen generators that will separate water into a gas called HHO (also called Brown’s Gas or Hydroxy) which burns smoothly and produces significant energy. Water then can be used to fuel a car as a supplement to gasoline. As a matter of fact, you can just use ordinary tap water while other water for gas conversion kit needs distilled water. Very little amount of water is needed, one quart of water can provide up to 1800 gallons of HHO gas which can last for months. Some water for gas conversion kits, like, Water4Gas, would just require that you put in ½ cup of distilled water weekly or 3 cups of distilled water for 3-6 weeks. The water-gas conversion kit can cost around $60- $150. This would definitely increase you car’s fuel competency and save money.

Not only are these kits gas saving devices, but it turns out that it does a lot more.  These conversion kits are said to produce a smoother running engine. With an ordinary vehicle running on gas, about 20-25% of gas is lost to carbon deposits and beat. But with water-gas conversion kits, the engine is being steam cleaned everyday, making the engine run smoother and quieter, even with a longer life.

These are just some ways to improve your gas mileage. It could be changing our driving habits and our car maintenance routine or it could be the revolutionary means of upgrading or car engine to use water to supplement gas. But bottom line is that gas prices are increasing everyday and people changing cars to vehicles that use less gasoline.

If you want to save but find it to expensive to buy a hybrid car, then there are ways to improve your vehicle’s mileage. Even the smallest improvement can result to big savings every year.

How Water to Gas Works

Posted by admin | money saving tips | Wednesday 29 October 2008 1:18 am

Practically everyone is looking for a way to save money on gas and new gas saving devices like water for gas gadgets are making people realize that concept, but how does water for gas work?

One that has been proven effective to make people save money on gas is a water powered car and it has proven to be effective at increasing your gas mileage.

Sounds preposterous, but this is actually a car that runs on water as well as fuel and surprisingly enough, it can be any gas-fuelled car.

Any vehicle can be converted into a water powered car to save money on gas, improve your engine life, and even benefit the environment.

Here’s how a water powered car works.

First thing you should know is that your car will not run on water alone, make no mistake.

It will use a combination of water and gasoline to power the car.  Although you still need to fill up your car, it will happen less often.

The way you use water to increase your fuel economy and reduce fuel consumption is fairly simple.

A water to gas device is installed on your vehicle that breaks water down into its original elements, hydrogen and oxygen.

The device then feeds these elements into the engine with gasoline and creates an effective mixture that increases gas mileage by up to 70%.

This mixture is called HHO (oxyhydrogen) or Brown’s gas and helps maximize fuel combustion, reducing harmful unburned fuel and carbon exhausts.

To make this water to gas process work on your car, you will have an option of buying a pre-made conversion kit and have it professionally installed or learn how to build and install one yourself.

While it may seem like a complicated system, it’s really a simple task to accomplish – not rocket science for first-timers.

Armed with some basic knowledge of cars, it shouldn’t be a problem for you to do it yourself and you could be on your way to saving those dollars on saving gas. You’ll also save a lot of money by doing it yourself and not have to pay for professional service but alsys get cheapest car insurance quotes online.

Many pre made water to gas conversion kits can be pretty expensive, so is having them installed.

You can buy all of the tools and supplies you need to do it on your own for around $100-$200, depending on the tools and the quality of materials you hope to use. In the long run, this is but a fraction of what you would pay for a commercial system and the money you save on fuel will make up for your expenses in less than a month.

There are a lot of online guides on the Internet and these guides will show you step by step processes on how to build the system.

It will provide you a list of supplies you need and surprisingly, can be easily found at your local hardware store.

These kits can be installed on any vehicle, require very minimal space around 4 inches by 10 inches of free space.

One thing to consider though, is to install it in an easily accessible area where it could be easily accessed for inspection and maintenance.

The concept of a water powered car is more of a reality than many people think and actually, the systems are not complicated and very easy to install.

With just a little money and time, you can run your car on water and save a ton of money on fuel costs, all you need to know is how water to gas works for more help be sure to get free auto insurance quotes on line.

How to Get The Most Out of Water to Gas

Posted by admin | money saving tips | Tuesday 28 October 2008 5:46 am

Now that is has been said and has already been done, there is currently the technology to fuel cars with water and here are some tips how to make the most out of water for gas.

Isn’t it good to know that cars can now run with water added to the current conventional fuelling process to help motorists save money on gas.

Running cars with water indeed has some very great advantages and it can actually save money.

Here are some basic and welcome developments with this technology.

First, it can practically cut gas bills in half every month, resulting to huge savings as can getting find cheap car insurance.

Another advantage is the effect on the environment, since using water to gas greatly reduces, if not eliminates, dangerous and polluting gas emissions released into the air during the fuel combustion process.

Since water is used, which is a stable and natural substance, water by-products make the air cleaner and safer for everyone to breathe, plus, also helps stop global warming.

But if many think that these are enough reasons to shift to this alternative process, there’s more but first see cheap online auto insurance.

Gasoline is currently the fuel of choice for cars and other vehicles, however, running it purely on gas causes carbon deposits to build up over time from unburned fuel.

Here’s a simple analogy, gasoline as fuel is like a piece of wood. After using the wood for fuel, the by product are ashes, which is primarily carbon. So is the process with internal fuel combustion in engines, where the end products are unburned gas and carbon emissions.

But by substituting water to gas, not only will it clean out the engine and remove these deposits, the engine becomes cleaner each time the car is driven, making it run much smoother and cleaner day by day.

Not only will one be able to notice a difference in the engine immediately since it runs smoothly, another noticeable change is that the engine stays cooler when water is used for fuel, since water is a natural cooling element.

The water will keep engines from overheating, resulting in fewer engine breakdowns and engine heat stress.

Another benefit to the engine is that using water to gas will make the engine run quieter and reduce knocking sounds caused by internal combustion, thus resulting to less vibration and provide less strain on the transmission process.

This will also result to smoother gear shifts and cleaner pistons and valves, resulting to wider torque range and faster acceleration.

In the end, these positive changes to the engine results in fewer operating costs and less repairs.

This is a picture perfect description of what benefits one can reap with using water to gas, however, there could be the worry about the cost of a water fuel conversion kit can have.

With the current fuel saving devices and water for gas kits in the market, this technology has allowed motorists to save on fuel, install the kits in their engines with no negative effects or damage parts of the car, unless it is installed incorrectly or inappropriately.

Most of these water to gas kits can be removed at any time without damaging the car or make any difference, except that it has become a cleaner engine.

So why not try water to gas? In the long run, it’s much cheaper and environmentally-friendly.

Gasoline Service Station Credit Cards Will Reward Customers With Discounts

Posted by admin | alternative fuels, money saving tips | Sunday 26 October 2008 10:09 pm

These days, with the high gasoline prices that people are forced to pay when it is time to fill up their fuel tank, many are constantly searching for ways to save money when it is time to head to the gas station. While there are numerous methods for increasing fuel economy that are being promoted, there is one way of saving that is often overlooked. That saving method is simply taking advantage of the gasoline service station credit cards that offer rebates.

A gasoline credit card that is issued by one of the major gas station chains works just like any other credit card but the difference is that these cards are designed to encourage brand loyalty. In most cases, they can only be used at gas stations that are owned by the same chain and in the convenience stores that they operate. Gas and oil companies have been offering these types of credit cards for many decades and the primary reason was to encourage people to only buy their gasoline from that particular brand.

A few years ago, some of the gasoline service station corporations decided to add a bit of a twist to their fuel credit cards by offering rebates on purchases of gas. This step encouraged consumers to be even more loyal to one gas station in order to try to rack up sufficient points through their purchases so they could claim their rebates.

These days, almost all of the national brands of gas stations now offer a credit card that has some type of rewards program or rebate to their customers when they use them. With the high gasoline prices today, it makes even more sense to take some time to find out exactly what is being offered by each of these companies and determine which can provide the best benefit for you.

It can be a good idea to go ahead and apply for more than one gasoline service station brand of gas credit card. This way, consumers still have a choice and can check to see which gas station is offering the best gas prices at the pump, but they can still take advantage of the rewards that come with the card. At the same time, if you travel a lot, having two or three different gas cards is an even better idea because some brands of gas stations are not as prevalent in some areas as others.

Some of the gas credit cards that are issued by the gasoline companies will sweeten the deal for new customers and will offer a higher percentage of the purchase as a rebate during the first three to six months after opening a new account with them. After that initial period, the rebate percentage will drop, so it is a good idea to check and compare both the initial offering and the long term rebate plan in order to make the best decision.

When using gasoline service station credit cards, be sure to pay the balance off in full each month. This way you can avoid the interest charges that will rack up if you carry a balance, as these charges can easily wipe out any savings that you might have enjoyed through the rebate program.

Gasoline prices are on everyone’s minds these days. Most people have had to double their weekly budgeted amount of money so that they can fill their car’s gas tanks. That means that there is less money for groceries, medical expenses and living expenses. The gas crisis has hit everyone’s pockets. Unfortunately there is not an easy solution in sight for lowering gas prices. It may be time to take matters into your own hands and rethink how you drive. You may have to turn to alternative fuel sources. You have to educate yourself if you want to keep your budget.

Water to Gas and Other Effective Gas Saving Devices

Posted by admin | money saving tips | Saturday 25 October 2008 9:08 pm

Many people nowadays would pay a little extra on water to gas and other effective gas saving devices, especially with the current round of oil price hikes that has caused quite a stir in some global economies.

With this, there has lately been a significant increase in the number and varieties of gas saving devices being advertised and sold commercially.

While these all work in different ways, their primary objective is quite the same – to make people save money on gas and getting Automobile Insurance Quotes Online - You’re Paying Too Much!.

While some devices work well and help save fuel costs, there are also those that don’t live up to their claims and can prove harmful to your vehicle.

So before trying to invest good money on these devices, always try to be wary and follow these safe and effective options on the market.

One of the most common and safest alternatives for fuel-saving is the Hydrogen Conversion Kit.

These conversion kits are also called water to gas devices and work primarily as hydrogen generators.

They may come in different names, but they are all generally the same - HHO conversion kit, Brown’s Gas kit, and water to fuel conversion kit, to name a few.

These are the best devices to use to save money on gas.

There are many options for these hydrogen generators like a commercially available pre- made kit or one that can be custom-made, even some can be made at home using simple materials and a good and credible how-to or do-it-yourself guide..

Mostly, pre-made kits are fairly expensive and are only as effective as homemade ones.

You can build a homemade hydrogen generator kit for a fraction of the cost using the simplest of materials commonly found in hardware stores and DIY shops.

Generally, these kits are devices that take water and turn it into fuel for your vehicle.

While you’ll still have to use gas to power your car, you’ll be able to save on fuel cost by at least 30%.

There are even devices that people claimed have doubled their gas mileage with these kits. There are also several great online guides that will show you exactly how to build your own hydrogen conversion device and install it in your cars.

Next in line are driver alert devices.

Although, these devices actually do not claim to increase fuel economy, but would help motorists make necessary adjustments in the car and real-time driving habits that can increase fuel economy.

These devices are installed in a vehicle to alert the driver of changes that need to be made to their driving, like slowing down or pressing down on the accelerator pedal too hard.

These devices will notify the driver either by lights or sound and will help the driver be more alert about their driving habits that usually consume more fuel if left unchecked or corrected.

Lastly, there are several other types of gas saving products and devices on the market, other than water to gas kits.

Among them are fuel line devices, vapor and air bleed devices, which primarily focus in reducing fuel consumption by introducing air to assist in fuel distribution or maximize fuel consumption and reduce carbon and unburned fuel emissions.

There are also several different types of chemical additives that is mixed either with fuel or motor oil that is primarily towards increasing gas mileage or improving engine lubrication, thus reducing heat to cool the engine and improve fuel consumption.

Unfortunately, many of these devices and products don’t provide a significant increase in gas mileage and are usually expensive.

If one is not careful, some can also cause damage to the vehicle or void warranty.

Before trying out these devices and products, make sure to do plenty of research on the products and always consider the pros and cons and check your 100% Free Car Insurance Coverage Quote Online.

To sum it all up, hydrogen conversion or water to gas kits offer the best alternatives for the best price, since they don’t cause damage to your vehicle and are completely reversible.
